Well, that’s what I get for making plans for Christmas. I take it that instead of a week in the west Highlands, it will be another stay-at-home holiday. Bah, humbug.
So I guess I’d better start planning the menus. These were last year’s; as I don’t have access to the same kitchen appliances, I may have to dial things down a bit. (And, she said in panic mode, I haven’t seen Grand Marnier anywhere on this island. What fresh hell is this?)
Oh no ! You have such a great Christmas plan! Selfishly I am hoping you are stuck so we can do dinner and drinks virtually again…….Well I will be having breakfast with champagne or a ceasar and you will be having dinner with cocktails and wine.
Keep us posted !
Our Xmas menu is lobster soup, duck with rhubarb, ginger and sage wth a good Pinot noir and bread & butter pudding with whisky sauce. Xmas Eve -tortierre, red cabbage and 13th St Gamay. I think you may need a more substantial Hogmanay menu to see you through all the First Footing- as a newcomer , although lacking the dark hair- you will be expected to have a dram at every house!
